Seeking Volunteers for August 1!
Area 39 is hosting the U.P. Regional Bocce Ball Tournament, better known as the Copper Country Classic on August 1. Special Olympics Athletes from all over the U.P. will be descending upon Houghton to compete in bocce ball. In order to run the tournament, we need a huge crew of community volunteers who are striving to make a difference in the world! Please consider volunteering for set-up on July 31 or to help out on the day of the tournament on August 1. We especially need volunteers to serve as officials and judges of the bocce matches. No experience or knowledge of the game is necessary, and we provide training prior to the start of the matches. This is a great way to interact with the athletes!
