Do you want a chance to be part of an awesome coaching experience? Hit and Run Select is coached by former MiLB player, Quincy Latimore and assistant coach by former professional player and coach, Butch Davis.
Quincy brings 13 years professional experience. He is from Apex, NC where he played at Middle Creek High School. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2007 MLB Amateur Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Since then, Quincy has gone on to play with several other organizations including the Cleveland Indians, Washington Nationals, Baltimore Orioles, Detroit Tigers and the Los Angeles Dodgers. He has also played in Mexico, Australia and Columbia during the winter seasons. He has 1616 hits, 350 doubles, 219 home-runs, and 936 RBIs in his 13 seasons of baseball including winter ball.
Butch is a former professional player and coach. He is from Williamston North Carolina. Butch was drafted out of ECU by the Kansas City Royals in the 12th Round of the 1980 MLB draft. He made his Major League Debut August 23, 1983 with the Royals. Butch played for 5 teams(Royals, Pirates, Orioles, Dodgers, Rangers)in parts of 8 seasons in the Big Leagues and played a total of 14 seasons professionally. Following his playing career he began coaching with the Baltimore Orioles. He’s had several roles with the Baltimore Orioles minor league system during his 24 yrs. with the organization. Hitting Coach, Roving outfield and base running coordinator, and he’s also managed. Butch served as the First Base Coach for the Minnesota Twins in 2015 and 2016 under Manager and HOFer Paul Molitor. 40 yrs. in professional baseball. He also made a cameo appearance in the 1988 baseball film Bull Durham starting Kevin Costner, Tim Robbins, and Susan Sarandon
