We should always take care of ourselves simply for ourselves. The “your body is the only place you have to live” thought process, feeling good in our own skin, confidence, etc.
For some this works! For some it doesn’t. If it doesn’t, try doing it for your kids and loved ones!
So you can create and enjoy lasting memories with them, so you have the energy to be there, so you have the energy to keep up, so your activities are not limited, and of course set a good example!
