The surfing community has lost a legend, our love and condolences to the Aipa family. We’ve had the privilege of working alongside Ben, who we and many others consider to be one of the best board builders and surfers out of Hawaii. My Dad pulled a few of the templates off our wall that Ben had designed and made with us over the years and also shared a few memories:

Ben’s attention to detail on his fins would be as strong as it got. Template, foil, flex and weight would be the discussion as he inspected his fins. Witch I enjoyed making to his approval. -Steve
