Well, the Legion season came to an end tonight. The girls beat Pillager 14-2 and then in a winner goes to state game against Bemidji, we came up just short, losing 4-3.

The girls put together an impressive summer season going 19-2! And the best part, they’re all coming back in the spring! We can’t wait to see what this group can do next school season!

Our player shout out for the night: Karlee Sweere, in right field, had not one, not two, but THREE 9-3 put outs against Pillager (two of which came in the same inning)! You don’t see that every day!

We sent a 14u team down to Marshall to participate in the Southwest Slugfest tournament. In typical Marshall fashion it was a hot one! The girls ended up taking 2nd in the tournament losing only to the Minnesota Havoc (Jackson County Central)!

We also need to shout out Violet Petrowski for her first career home run! It was a 2-run shot in the semi-final game against Mankato!

Due to weather and busy schedules, we were finally able to get our end of the year bonfire in! It was a phenomenal season for girls going 20-5, winning the Park Region Conference, and finishing third in one of the toughest sections in the state! Here are our award winners!

The Legion girls tore it up at the Minnewaska Big Wave Tournament going 4-0 and bringing home a 1st place finish. The girls beat:
Watertown-Mayer 7-2
Minnewaska 15-2
Pierz 4-2
Milan 5-0

And in true WDC fashion we had some home runs on the day. Karly decided to do it the old fashioned way by clearing the fence…twice. Alyssa and McKenna wanted to show off their speed and kept them in the park.

Last Sunday, Jada Dykhoff was invited to play in the Senior All-Star Series down in Mankato! This series capped off a remarkable career for Jada. A few noteworthy stats for our short stop:

Consecutive Games Played: 115

These are just a few of the very impressive stats Jada accumulated over her career!

The hail never bothered us anyway…shout out to the 16u girls. The girls were just about to start warming up for their game against Nevis when the hail hit. After the field was completely flooded, the girls grabbed rakes, shovels, and brooms, cleared the field, and less than an hour after, we played. Team work makes the dream work…now to have some parents file some claims on broken windshields…
