In Towne Marina

In Towne Marina Boat Slips and Buoys, Boat Access, Pontoon Rental, Marine-grade Gas, Live Bait, Tackle, Snacks & Ice We sell 91-octane, marine-grade fuel at our gas dock.

We are a family-owned and operated business that has enjoyed sharing Lake Waconia with guests for over 40 years. In the summer, we lease boat slips and mooring buoys, as well as rent fishing boats and pontoons. You can launch your boat at our well-maintained pay access with long docks. We have a bait and tackle store, offering licenses, snacks/beverages and lake information. In the winter, we rent

fish houses and keep the lake roads plowed for easy access to all of the common fishing locations on Lake Waconia.

Start your celebration of America’s 250th year with fireworks on Lake Waconia! The Lake Waconia Fireworks Festival will be putting on this year’s fireworks show at Sovereign Estate Winery on the north side of Lake Waconia on Friday, July 3rd at dusk, likely around 9:45 to 10:00 pm.

Thank you to Sovereign Estate Winery, Isaac Savaryn, and everyone involved for continuing the tradition of having fireworks in the Waconia Community. For those not attending Sovereign’s onsite event, viewing from a boat on Lake Waconia will be great!

On Friday, July 3rd, In Towne Marina will be open from 7:00 am until the end of the fireworks show. Those who would like to watch from the marina are welcome to join us on our hill, near the shoreline, or on the deck — but not on the docks. Please park on the streets above the marina and walk down. Our parking lot will only be available to slip and buoy members.

Hours for the remainder of the week:
Wednesday, 7/1/26 – 9:00 am to 8:00 pm
Thursday, 7/2/26 – 8:00 am to 8:30 pm
Friday, 7/3/26 – 7:00 am to end of Fireworks Show, likely 10:15/10:30 pm
Saturday, 7/4/26 – 7:00 am to 8:30 pm
Sunday, 7/5/26 – 8:00 am to 8:30 pm

Water temps have fluctuated greatly since before fishing opener up until now. With some of the May nights near frost temperatures and higher than normal spring winds, we’ve measured temps from the low to mid-50’s and into the low 60’s. Current water temp today, 5/22, in 4 feet of water is 58 degrees. With much warmer air temps coming Sunday, we expect a big jump in water temp, likely into the mid-to-upper 60’s within a few days.

What does the water temperature mean for fishing? Once we get consistent water in the mid-60’s, we’ll see the sunfish setting up beds to spawn in the shallows. Normally we see good spring crappie fishing near our docks, but this spring they have been catching them in 9 to 13 feet of water in Waconia Bay in similar locations to where we ice fish. Other spots near the Rock Dock and the shallower part of Pillsbury Reef and Center Reef have been good for crappies too. Bass fishing has been the most consistent bite, as many anglers have found them in similar spots they’ve been panfishing or in the shallower reeds along the shoreline, with some getting strong bass bites on fatheads or leeches walleye fishing too. Speaking of walleyes, it’s still worth trying the shallower weedlines on the north side of the lake, near Harm’s point and to the weedline east of the Rock Dock. Some bites have been coming from fishing reefs like North Reef and parts of Center Reef. Jigging with a fathead has been most common, but slip bobber fishing with a leech has done the job too.

We'll see you on the lake!
