Heres our current engine combo!

Aluminum SBE gen 3 😬 4.8L
BES racing engines CNC ported Cathedral 243's
BTR stage 4 turbo camshaft
BTR ultimate valve spring kit
Shaft mounted BTR rockers
ARP head studs
BTR small bore LS9 head gaskets
Mahle rings, gapped 28T, 26B
Melling 10295 oil pump
BTR purple valve covers

Thats it! Nothing fancy here, just an efficient little truck motor ready to crank out a little extra rpm!

We know the gen 3 rods and pistons are the weak point within the combo, but for now while we figure out the car, this little motor "should" be safe till around 7-800hp... which should feel like a 🚀 in our 2600lb chassis!

My question to you folks... how much boost do YOU think is too much on a gen 3 rod/piston? How much power can we safely make on methanol?? Let us know!!

I meant to start a page when we bought the car, but life gets busy!

Here's a few pics and a starter post to catch everyone up!

-Frightenin' McQueen was formerly a big tire, big block Ford bracket car that we found on marketplace back in September of 2025. deserted in a field, somewhere in crab orchard ky. We scored the roller for a whopping $1400.00!!!

-The car was already equipped with some good parts, including a midwest narrowed 9" rear end, full tube chassis, with excellent sheet metal work on the interior, from the back of the car, up to the firewall, and a good, solid cage. She had good bones, but was gonna need some serious love to get to where we wanted to be.

-Since last September we havent had much time to spend on her, but in the last couple weeks we've made some significant leaps and bounds towards getting the car race ready!

We've fixed the hacked up firewall. Tubed the front end. And tubular K member. Replaced the jegs seat with a nice kirkey seat. Dumped the dry rotted big tires and put her some 15x10" double beadlocked welds, and some super nice lightweight Kizer front runners.

We've got 2 engine combos in the works for the car. 1, a sbe, arp studded, 4.8 rocking a BTR turbo cam just to get the car back on the track. We figure we'll run this motor till she lays down, and then we'll put our bigger engine in place. The first engine we anticipate no more than 800whp. The 2nd engine is a gen 4 5.3 max effort application that will let it all hang out! Alot of choices to be made for our second engine, so stay tuned for updates as we move the program along!

We plan to do it up big. Start small, and grow with your support as we work our way up through the ranks! Ive started a YouTube channel, scored some nice video equipment, and planning to provide as much coverage as possible to keep everyone up to date as we grow!
