A wonderful birthday weekend celebrating Sawyer Jackson’s 17th birthday! A bunch of teenagers learning how to make good choices, reinforcing a strong work ethic, having fun harvesting and cleaning dove, taking a midnight swim in the tank, and most importantly sharing a love of God, family, and each other ❤️.

Sawyer (Grandson) and Ethan (his buddy) were a major help in rebuilding our “Shoot Shack” after a windstorm blew it down. AK 47 and AR 15 familiarization coming up for his birthday party! Weapons of choice for coyote eradication.

A baby Addax antelope! Addax antelopes (critically endangered in their native Sahara) thrive in Texas. With fewer than 500 left in the wild, Texas ranches play a vital conservation role. Tanks are full!

My little buddy and namesake Kanin (that’s my middle name) just turned 13! He’s my big buddy now. He loves to fish (and he’s a skilled hunter). His birthday gift is a 5 day horse pack trip into the Gila Wilderness to do some trout fishing (and best of all, grandpa/grandson bonding!). I backpacked by myself into the Gila when I was 18. I had a life changing spiritual experience by going into the wilderness for 5 days by myself.
