A few months pregnant with twins 💗🩵 (long ago, not current 🤣)
I think the fitness industry talks a lot about self-care, diet, and exercise, and it rolls off the tongue without us really stopping to think about what that actually means.
It isn’t just about burning calories or getting stronger. The entire purpose of movement is to challenge your body so that it can recover. RECOVERY is where adaptation happens. It’s where your nervous system regulates, your body repairs itself, and your cells become more energy efficient. That’s how you’re able to come back and perform even better the next time. AND REVERSE AGING.
Nutrition is no different. It’s not just about calories or macros. It’s about giving your body exactly what it needs to function, recover, and produce energy as efficiently as possible. It sounds impossible but you have to strike the balance between too little and too much food — optimally only eating within short window allowing the body to recover.
So instead of focusing solely on fitness, maybe we should be focusing on the body’s ability to create and use ENERGY 💛 We focus on so much of the physical (what we can showcase on social media), but I think we’re missing the core messaging and true essence // what if we dialed more into the energy that we emit. That’s the secret sauce, that’s the magic you feel when someone walks into the room.
Savasana isn’t just the end of class. It’s one of the MOST important parts. It’s the moment your body shifts from doing to BECOMING. It’s where your nervous system begins to regulate, where recovery begins, and where your body starts receiving the benefits of everything you just did.
Movement. Recovery. Nutrition. Energy. They’re the foundation of life and well-being. 🔥 Maybe I’ve gone down the rabbit hole of longevity and living forever — but diet / nutrition is the table stakes — how do we live our lives to the fullest and live our longest healthiest, and most fulfilling life. Stop pretending, stop posting, and start investing in yourself 24/7 to become your best self. The best thing you can be is curious and self aware. The worst thing you can be is distracted.
