Track was like sandpaper on the tires last night.

Greyson started 9th in the main and finished 9th.

Track position doesn’t show it all. He ran the top well and realized when he need to move down to the bottom. He had good restarts but the cars in front of him lagged on the restarts.

With a little more throttle control I think he qualifies better and starts him closer to the front of the pack in the mains.

The long drive to Stockton hoping to get some laps in before the memorial race in a couple weeks. Didn’t end the way we expected it to. Greyson pulling into staging and I told him to turn the car off trying to keep the heat down. 5 minutes later he tries to fire the car to get on the track for the main and the car wouldn’t fire. Just like that the fuel pump stopped.

Recap from last weekend.

Exited we were able to attend the 2026 St. Jude Race for Research gala Friday night. Amazing to see racers get together for a great Cause. Over $300K raised this weekend!!!!

Saturday night Greyson and the team raced in the race for research at Lemoore Jet Bowl.

Greyson qualified 11th of 23. Started on Pole for his heat race. Jumped the start finished 4th.

Started 10th in the main. 2 laps in Grey was caught behind a wreck and ended up in 16th. He calmed down and ran one of the best races in his racing career. He raced some good racers with a lot more experience hard and clean throwing some hard sliders with Cody Samuels. Finally, finished a race with a respectable 7th position.

The car set up is coming along. Grey feels good running the car hard up around the top of the track!

Looking forward to racing Delta Speedway in Stockton Saturday night. Bonus, the 21g should be re-warped and looking good all dressed up!

Thanks to those that make our Race team go round.

Race weekend recap:

We’re finding consistency, but the gremlins in the 21G continue.

Friday night at Plaza, we chased setup on a track that was completely different from what we’ve seen all year. Huge thanks to C-Paul for helping get the setup headed in the right direction so Greyson could be competitive. In the main, Greyson drove hard and kept the car under him. We believe we solved the overheating issue, but then ran into a fuel problem. About 15 laps into the main, the car began starving for fuel, forcing Greyson to pull in for another DNF.

Big thanks to Cody Samuels for coming by Saturday morning to help with a quick once-over and injector cleaning.

Saturday night, the setup was dialed in. After getting caught up in a wreck during the heat race, Greyson started 13th in the main. He drove up to 8th and was closing in on a few more cars when disaster struck again. The carrier in the rear gear broke off. We’re not sure if there was a pre-existing hairline fracture or if the earlier wreck caused it, but once again, we had to pull in with a DNF.

Despite the frustration of not finishing mains, we’re making progress. We’re growing, learning, and becoming a better race team every weekend. Greyson now has a setup he can really drive, and I’m gaining more confidence in making the right adjustments as track conditions change. I’m no longer throwing guesses at it, and I think Greyson is feeding off that growing confidence too.

This week’s agenda:
• Swap out the bent rear end
• Check or replace bearings
• Get ready for Race for Research Gala
• Be ready to race Saturday night at Lemoore Jet Bowl

We’re getting closer.

Special thanks to those that help the 21g ground the track.

Not the way we expected the night would go. Another DNF.
One of these days we will catch a break. On a much brighter note. We didn’t fight the car getting to hot tonight.

Opening Weekend Recap – Henry Racing Motorsports

They say you’re never as ready as you think you are… and opening weekend proved that right.

From new pads for Greyson’s seat showing up at noon Friday — just hours before hot laps at Plaza Park Raceway — to last-minute glitches with the new wrap on the 21G, it was a full send kind of weekend from the start.

First and foremost, thank you to everyone who helps make this car go around the track. It truly takes a team, and we’re grateful for every single person who pitches in.

Friday Night:
With a stacked non-wing field, we chased track conditions and setup most of the night. Qualified late. Moved up a spot in the heat race. Rolled off 19th in the 30-lap main.

We finally hit on the right setup and Greyson was on the move — up 6 spots in the first half of the race. Unfortunately, the car started getting way too hot and we had to pull in with a DNF. Not the season opener we wanted, but there were definite positives to build on.

Saturday Night:
At Lemoore Raceway, the score tower went down and the track had to go to Plan B. The main lineup was set by heat race passing points. With an even bigger non-wing field than Friday, there was a B Main.

We were chasing setup again, and with the track locked down to a one-lane bottom, passing was tough. Greyson picked up a spot in his heat. We believed we had the overheating issue solved, but during the B Main the temps climbed again and we had to pull in. We missed the A by one position.

As frustrating as that is, it may have been a blessing. Thirty laps in the A Main could’ve meant bigger problems.

Opening weekend didn’t give us the results we wanted — but it showed speed, progress, and plenty to learn from. We’ll get the overheating sorted out and come back stronger.

On to the next one.Henry Racing Motorsports
