WRV Surf Camp Since 2001, our expert staff has taught people of all ages and skill levels how to surf. You must be a good swimmer and comfortable in the ocean to participate.

Join us for and unforgettable experience that is safe, fun, and rewarding! Founded in 2001 by former professional surfer and former East Coast Amateur Champion, Brendan Petticrew. Together with his team of CPR certified surf instructors, they offer an unforgettable experience that is safe, fun, and rewarding! The camp is located in Virginia Beach and is designed for ages 6 and up. Prices for camps

This is a retro WRV Surf Camp flyer from 2004 which is a few years after things began in 2001.
Things started off with an idea between two teenage friends (Granger Clark & Brendan Petticrew), a handful of foam boards that Les Shaw agreed to order for them, an old pickup truck, paper flyers at each register, and a house landline for calls. No internet registration or cell phones were involved until several years later. Crazy how time flies and things evolve!

Starting on 7/12/2024 we are offering women surf camps for ages 18 & up every Friday! For only $70 (per session) you will learn the basics, catch a ton of waves, and end the fun with a complimentary Orange Crush on the patio at Waterman’s (ages 21 & up).
