Strength Sunday!

Copenhagen planks.

Let's talk about this challenging but value movement.

Similar to a side plank, the Copenhagen elevates your feet engages your adductors to keep those feet connected on either side of the bench.

Strength Training💪

Let's talk deadlifts.

So important for a runner.🤔

They build a stronger, more powerful running body and an all around more durable athlete.

This full body exercise hits lots of major muscles, especially the essential running ones (hamstrings!).

Performing it properly is a must so start slow and use little to no weight until you're sure you have proper form.

Back flat, neutral spine, shoulders engaged, vertical shins, body in contact with the bar the whole way, not shrugging at the top and more.

Ask a professional for help!

*I have long femurs that change my position in relation to the bar*

Day 1 🥳

Let's kick off the June lunge challenge with some good old fashioned walking ones.

This simple and effective exercise can be done just about anywhere and will help you become a stronger runner with better balance and fewer muscle imbalances.

Keep those knees square, your chest up, and have fun!

Knock out 25 walking lunges on each side to complete the challenge for Day 1 😁

TOMORROW!!!

The JUNE CHALLENGE begins🥳

Get ready for stronger legs, improved balance, a more stable core and increased running power.

Completing 50 lunges each day can help you reach those goals.

All of which add up to lower injury risk and faster splits!

Do you have a favorite variety? What are you looking forward to in June?

Hump Day Hotfeet!

Fast feet are important.

Shorter contact times and higher turn over can reduce your risk of injury and make you faster.

Running strides on grass are a great way to work on not only moving those feet but strengthening your lower legs along the way.

Here's Michael getting in some speedy 15s strides on the grass after a fun little tempo workout.

Shoot for 180 steps a minute, it might feel fast and challenging but it will be worth it.

Want help? Send a DM and we'll help you get that cadence up while reducing your risk of injury and becoming a faster runner.
