July of 2017 I took a chance and reached out to a skipper in San Diego who was looking for crew. He was new to the San Diego sailing scene and was willing to take anyone wanting to learn. The first race I did with Chuck was the 2 day Commodore's Cup. Now fast forward 7 years and Chuck is serving as the Commodore of the Cortez Racing Association and continuing to build a great sailing community.

A great weekend of sailing for the crew of Rhumb Runner in the San Diego Coastal Cup. We completed our clean sweep of first place finishes in all 3 races. The crew was working the boat so well we were consistently hitting 100% of our Polars. With the wind at our beam for much of the time opening up the slot with an outboard lead was key.
