When people think about cheerleaders, they often picture smiling, peppy faces and overlook the incredible amount of strength, skill, and trust this sport requires.

Can you hold another person while they’re standing on your shoulders?

Now flip it around—do you trust someone enough to stand on their shoulders, knowing they’re responsible for keeping you from falling, while you pull a hitch?

Cheerleading isn’t just about smiles on the sidelines. It’s athletes trusting one another with their bodies, their safety, and sometimes quite literally—with catching them when they fall.

This team is just beginning to lay the foundation of that strength and trust, and I can’t wait to see where it takes them.
