The Little Cypress Intermediate school is having a disc golf fun day on Monday May 18th. They are asking for the local disc golf community to help them out by providing disc golf instructors to teach the 4th and 5th graders the basics. There will be 4 groups of 25 and we have about 45 min. for each.

I need volunteers please. We are also trying to work out a deal for the school to get discs and some baskets for an ongoing disc golf activity at LC-I. Thank you. Rodney Ellis

Two options this weekend for Sat. and Sun. disc golf.

The first one is for the South East Texas club mini at Smiley's. SUNDAY is Patrick Loller's birthday bash and bag tag mini at Smiley's. Sign ups at 1pm, however, should be people out there all day long. 10 dollars all in for club members, 12 all in for non club members.
If you want to join SETXDGC then bring an extra 25 dollars for enrollment and bag tag.
Will have about 30 links for the pit. Bring something, if you can for the pit, or some chips, snacks, whatever. As always, I will have a free card for those that want to play but don't have money and/or new to the sport.

the second one is for the ICDGC (Imperial Calcasieu Disc Golf Club) in Lake Charles. They kick of the ICDGC spring league on SATURDAY. This will a event will take place over the next several weeks. The first event is tomorrow at 2 pm at the BOB will be one round of 18 with the Winner of Each card getting a pay out. Please come out and support your local club. If your not yet a club member as yet you are still welcome play and see about our club. We hope to see you there (Howard Jones).

I said yesterday I was going to make a big announcement today and here it is:
We have secured our Title sponsor for the 2015 LE ROI DU COTE!
Louisiana Cat has agreed to be our title sponsor! This is big new for us!
The event name will now be "Louisiana Cat presents the 2015 LE ROI DU COTE"

We used their equipment to help make La Cote so it is with great pride to see them involved with this event!

We are in the process of building a new disc golf course in Orange at the Nazarene church off of MLK and we need your help.

WE ARE HAVING A WORK DAY: SAT JAN 31
Please bring loppers, chain saw, anything that will help clear brush.
Start: 8:30 am til 12:00 noon, all help would be greatly appreciated.

Directions: From Beaumont: Take the MLK Drive - Exit 874, turn left at the light, 0.6 mile on the right is the Orange First Church of the Nazarene Church, turn in the first entrance go behind the church to Pavilion.
From Lake Charles: Take Exit 874B turn right at the light onto MLK Drive go 0.6 mile on the right.

After the work day then we will eat and go to Lake Charles for a 2:00 mini at the "Bob".

Just a friendly reminder that La Cote will be hosting a bag tag challenge this Saturday at 2pm. If you would like to start early please have a group of at least 3 players, and be prepared to leave your tag/tags until scores are final. 7.00 to play 2.00 goes to La Cote maintenance fund for the KOTH on 28 March. Keep an eye out for some exciting news about the KOTH. This news will shock your socks off your feet.

La Cote DGC in Ragley La. will be hosting a bag tag challenge on Saturday Jan. 24th. It will start at 2:00 pm. 1 rd. of 18. $7.00 to play. All tag welcome and will be in play. La Cote/DCT tag will be available for purchase for 15.00 each. After the rd. we can fire up the grill, light a fire ,and lie about how good we are at disc golf.

There is a workday for the new disc golf course now being installed at the First Church of the Nazarene (3810 Martin Luther King Junior Drive Orange, TX 77632) it is on MLK about a half mile north of I-10. It will be soggy from all the rain today but we will still be out there at 9am Saturday. So bring your boots and any land clearing tools you have. Thanks.
