Cardio is great for your heart health and burning calories… but if fat loss is your goal, relying on cardio alone can backfire.
Here’s why:
🛑 You’ll burn calories during the workout, but not much after.
🛑 You won’t build muscle, which is what keeps your metabolism higher even at rest.
🛑 Doing too much can increase hunger, making it harder to stay in a calorie deficit.
The fix:
✅ Combine cardio with strength training (yes, even bodyweight workouts count).
✅ Aim for 2–3 days of strength training and 2–3 days of cardio per week.
✅ Keep it simple — squats, push-ups, planks, and walking are a great start.
