🚣‍♀️ Tomorrow morning, we rise! 🚣‍♂️
Grab your tubes, rafts, kayaks, and your river crew and join CFC (and this rad sweep boat) — Rise Up for the River is hitting the water tomorrow, Saturday, August 16 at 10AM!

We’ll float from Sha-Ron Fishing Access to Silver Park, rallying for clean water, a healthy Clark Fork River watershed, and the communities and wildlife it sustains.

✅ Morning shuttles from Silver Park at 9:00 & 9:30 AM (space is limited—RSVP encouraged!)
✅ Afternoon Shuttles at 2PM for floaters who park vehicles at Sha-Ron
✅ All ages welcome—bring your own floatation vessel & gear

This is more than just a float—it’s a moving rally to celebrate how far we’ve come in restoring our river and to stand together against the challenges it still faces.

CWD is a disease that could have negative effects on big game herds in our wild populations on the Flathead Reservation. Please properly dispose of your carcasses and have your harvested deer, elk and moose tested for CWD for FREE at our office at 406 6th ave East in Polson. Stop by if you would like to pick up a Hunter Sample kit so you can collect your own lymph node sample in the field if you are unable to bring your animal's head to us for testing.

🎣 Anglers don't need to wait until FWP imposes hoot-owl restrictions. With these six tips, you can help reduce stress on our coldwater species!

> Fishing only during the morning when water temperatures are lowest.

> Bringing hooked trout to the net as quickly as possible to reduce lactic acid buildup.

> Keeping trout in the water when removing the hook. If you must take a photo of a trout out of water, doing it as quickly as possible.

> Considering mountain lake or stream fishing during late summer.

> Wetting your hands before handling trout to protect their mucous skin coating.

Remember, any recreational site user, age 12+, accessing a fishing access site (FAS), wildlife management area (WMA), wildlife habitat protection area (WHPA), and Montana state trust land need a Montana Conservation License.

So, whatever weather this Memorial Day weekend brings, our watercraft inspectors will help you get out on the water. Stations will have extra staff to account for increased traffic, but please plan on a little extra travel time.
