“An important decision I made was to resist playing the Blame Game. The day I realized that I am in charge of how I will approach problems in my life, that things will turn out better or worse because of me and nobody else, that was the day I knew I would be a happier and healthier person. And that was the day I knew I could truly build a life that matters.”

In the egoic state, your sense of self, your identity, is derived from your thinking mind - in other words, what your mind tells you about yourself: the storyline of you, the memories, the expectations, all the thoughts that go through your head continuously and the emotions that reflect those thoughts. All those things make up your sense of self.

What can you do today that is 'uncomfortable'?

“Real change is difficult at the beginning, but gorgeous at the end. Change begins the moment you get the courage and step outside your comfort zone; change begins at the end of your comfort zone.”
― Roy T. Bennett

Slow down and everything you are chasing will come around and catch you.
With everything, thinking long term and making steady progress, day by day, is what generates real results. This is the power of slow. With patience, discipline, and hard work, eventually you’ll stumble upon a breakthrough.

This approach is applicable to all areas of our lives: art, science, business, design, writing, and so on. If you have a problem or goal that is beyond you, you should try to slow down, rather than speed up. Here are three simple steps to fully harness the power of slow.

1. Don’t Force It
The most important thing to do is not force it. When you’re stuck and literally feel like banging your head against the wall, it’s a good idea to take a step back and walk away. Let things marinate in your subconscious.

2. Respect Your Process
Everyone works differently and has their own quirks and habits that make them tick. Don’t get down on yourself when you aren’t able to write for 10 straight hours or change your diet overnight. There’s an optimal process that each of us follows. You need to respect it.

3. Make Progress
It doesn’t matter if you do a little or a lot on a daily basis. The only measurement is that you are getting closer to your goal everyday. If that’s searching for a breakthrough, engage with focused, conscious thinking for a couple hours, but don’t burn yourself out. Take a break and let the subconscious take over for awhile.

Love yourself first. Below are 3 out of 22 from this excellent article by Sharon Martin. Which resonate with you the most?
https://www.livewellwithsharonmartin.com/how-to-love.../

Be honest with yourself. This one can be harder than it seems. Some of us as so good at self-deception that we don’t even know we’re doing it. Honesty is key in all relationships and your relationship with yourself is no different. Clearly, you can’t love your entire messy self if you’re lying, minimizing, or making excuses. True self-love means taking responsibility and accountability.

Accept that some people won’t like you. That’s right, some people don’t like you and that’s O.K. Don’t waste your time trying to please people who are impossible to please or people who just aren’t that important to you. Being yourself means you have to give up your people-pleasing ways and embrace your authentic self.

Surround yourself with people who treat you with kindness and respect. Who you spend time with reflects how you feel about yourself. People who feel worthy surround themselves with positive people. Sometimes loving yourself means you have to end relationships with abusive or unkind people.

I've got a theory that if you give 100% all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

Don’t tell people your dreams, show them.

We don’t always, and in some cases shouldn’t, share our dreams with everyone.

Often times the people closest to us who claim to have our best interests at heart will crush a dream, or worse a spirit.

And though good intentions are usually behind their discouraging remarks there is still potential for extraordinary damage.

So What Do You Do?
Protect your dreams fiercely. Share your lofty goals only with like-minded people who support your vision, believe in you, and will hold you accountable to making something happen.

Support one another’s aspirations while leveraging your strengths and being a shrewd judge of your shortcomings.

There are many mornings I would find it difficult to take on the day...a bit intimidating if you will. Previously, I'd try to consume the list of tasks to accomplish and, in doing so, would often shut down and do almost none of them. Then, I decided to change my mindset. I created a mindset to get my body in motion with one small thing first. It didn't matter how slow I was moving in that first task, as long as it was started. And, I wouldn't let myself sit down after that step was completed. This method almost ALWAYS lead to a very productive day and often I'd exceed what was on my original list.

I suppose this all ties back to Newton's first law of motion describing inertia. According to this law, a body at rest tends to stay at rest, and a body in motion tends to stay in motion, unless acted on by a net external force. 🏃‍♂️

THE LAW OF ATTRACTION is a philosophy suggesting that positive thoughts bring positive results into a person's life, while negative thoughts bring negative outcomes. It is based on the belief that thoughts are a form of energy and that positive energy attracts success in all areas of life, including health, finances, and relationships.
