UPDATE

Gannon is in heart failure. He’s began having fainting spells from it. I’m no longer able to physically breastfeed Gannon, as it is too physically draining for him and he’s beginning to lose weight from his complications. He’s now receiving breast milk via bottle. They discontinued his BP medication, it wasn’t helping and the benefits didn’t outweigh the risks for it to continue. He’s on lasix to help him to release the fluids he needs to. Surgery is officially set for next week, though the day/time is still unofficial. In preparation for the surgery/to get more answers/rule out things he had a CT scan done today. They found another abnormality, a pseudoaneurysm above the aortic valve. To further investigate that, Gannon will have a cath procedure with contrast dye done tomorrow afternoon. He will be sedated for this. Once that has been completed, all of his surgeons/pediatric cardiologists will conference again. We will know what is next from there, which includes type of surgical procedure. At this point it is a possibility he may have a heart transplant, given the amount of deformities. He’s now hooked to an extra monitor, as he’s now a “high risk heart failure patient.” We will have more updates to his health tomorrow. We will be here at Blair E Batson until he recovers after open heart surgery.

With everything going on, he’s definitely such an amazing joy to have. Our beautiful baby boy ❤️
