A new state record for the longest alligator harvested was broken today!

Congratulations to these Mississippi hunters! Pictured left to right:

They harvested this male alligator in the West Central Alligator Hunting Zone. He measured 14 feet and 3 inches long, with a belly girth of 66 inches and tail girth of 46.5 inches. He weighed 802.5 lbs!

Don't forget - the application period for alligator season permits will conclude tomorrow (June 8 ) at 10:00 a.m.

The 2022 10-day public water alligator hunting season begins at 12:00 p.m. on August 26 and runs through September 5. A total of 960 permits will be available within seven hunting zones across the state.
