Founded in 1998 by Head Instructor Bart Nelson. The Flying Dragons Taekwondo and Mixed Martial Arts Training Center provides a home for those that wish to learn a way of life that goes beyond day to day routine. Our students showcase not only the physical aspects of a martial artist, but the strong mental traits as well. Translated In Korean;
"Tae" means "To strike with foot." "Kwon" means "To str
ike with hand." and "Do" means "The way of." Therefore Taekwondo is roughly translated, "The way of the hand and foot." A Little About our instructors. The Flying Dragons Taewondo Training Center is ran by Bart Nelson and his two sons; Caleb and Dakota Nelson. Head Instructor: Bart Nelson, Third Degree Blackbelt:
Bart has over twenty years of martial experience under his belt. (No pun intended)
Training under numerous teachers over the years, Bart has acquired a vast array of skills that he is eager to pass on to his students. Bart has tested his skills in full contact Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Matches, and has since decided to train
those who wish to learn the sport. Apart from Bart's martial arts training, he has a degree in Physical Therapy
which provides a profound knowledge of the human body, and how martial arts can benefit it. Assistant Instructor: Caleb Nelson, Third Degree Blackbelt:
Caleb has grown up in the martial arts, seeing it not as a hobby or sport,
but as a way of life. Caleb is more than proficient in the art of Taekwondo. Setting his main focus on Patterens, Weapons, and Board breaking. He is also very capable in hand to hand combat, as well as ground fighting. Assistant Instructor: Dakota Nelson, Second Degree Blackbelt. Dakota, like his brother, has grown up in the martial arts. He has been trained in many different disciplines some of which include Boxing, Jujutsu, Wrestling, and of course Taekwondo. He has learned how to blend these very different styles into one diverse style which he has brought into many full contact matches during his time as a martial artist. During these matches (Including MMA,and Kickboxing) he has gained a tremendous amount of knowledge on preparing one's body and mind during extreme circumstances. At our Training Center we teach a multitude of abilities. What we hold above all else is, self discipline. "To train one's body yet leave the mind untouched would be an injustice. For how can one allow an animal run wild the span of its life, then expect submission during maturity?"
Becoming a student of our training center means being accepted into our family. We treat each other with the utmost respect, and help each other to learn. It is a work-at-your-own-pace style of training, and our instructors are alwaysonly a hand raise away. Contact us at:
