Women in the Outdoors - Tenkiller State Park Have you ever wanted to learn how to shoot a handgun or shotgun? Ever wanted to pull back a bow and arrow... just once? You deserve a day outdoors!

Held the first weekend of November each year in beautiful Vian, OK, Tenkiller WITO is an outdoor educational program that provides hands-on learning opportunities for women. How about learning the proper way to paddle a canoe, cast a fly rod, or rappel down a cliff face? Trade your to-do list for a day for yourself — a day in the outdoors. Join thousands of women who have attended a Women in the Outdoors event and try something new! Grab a girlfriend, get registered for this year’s event, and check "me time" off your list.

Good afternoon, ladies! I hope everyone is surviving this heat we're stuck in!

Just wanted to create this post for you all the talk about any lodging options you know about. Tenkiller State Park still has cabins available. To reserve there, please call the Park Office at 918-776-8180.

I've been told about a venue that also has availability called Rocky Retreat located at Snake Creek on Hwy 82. I don't have their number, but I'm sure you can do a FB search and find them.

Please feel free to add any plugs for other venues you know about in the comments so everyone can see!

Time to get those registrations in, ladies! We already have three class sessions that are full. Also, if you're wanting to reserve a cabin at Tenkiller State Park, better act fast. As of this week, half the cabins were rented. To reserve a cabin, call the Park Office at 918-776-8180. If you need a WITO registration, send an email to [email protected]

Just FYI: I am working on adding all current registrants to the NWTF event system. You may receive a notification text or email "receipt" for your ticket purchase. WE ARE NOT CHARGING YOUR CARD AT THIS TIME! We will only charge a card after we have spoken with you directly for payment. This notification is simply to inform you that you have been added to the system. Don't panic. :)

Save the date! This year's official Tenkiller WITO dates are Thursday November 5-Sunday November 8. Thursday will be only for ladies participating in the mentored hunts. Check in for everyone will be Friday evening and regular classes will be Saturday and Sunday. Hope to see you all there!
