FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Midwest Warriors Announce Pause of Competition for the 2026 Season
The Midwest Warriors organization announces that it will not be competing during the 2026 football season. This decision was not made lightly, as the organization has worked diligently to build a competitive and respected program over the past several years.
While the Warriors have developed a strong foundation and a winning culture, the organization was ultimately unable to secure a sufficient number of dedicated and committed players necessary to field a team capable of competing at the level required for a successful and, most importantly, safe season of play.
The Warriors would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the core group of players and staff members who have remained loyal to the program. Their dedication, resilience, and belief in the organization have been the backbone of everything the Midwest Warriors have achieved. Their efforts helped shape the identity of this team and laid the groundwork for what the program has become.
The organization also wishes to sincerely thank its valued sponsors, Tragers Seamless Gutters & Leafguards and Pizza Ranch, for their continued support. Their contributions have played a vital role in sustaining and growing the Warriors program, and their partnership has been greatly appreciated.
In addition, the Midwest Warriors extend significant appreciation to the Mid-West United Football League, including its leadership, staff, and member organizations. The league has provided a welcoming and supportive environment, giving the Warriors a place to grow, compete, and represent their community with pride.
Unfortunately, a combination of factors—including players failing to commit and the presence of competing programs from other leagues in the region drawing from the same talent pool—has made it impossible to assemble a roster large enough to properly and safely compete in the 2026 season. Player safety and program integrity remain top priorities, and this decision reflects the organization’s commitment to both.
The Midwest Warriors Board of Directors will be meeting over the coming weeks to evaluate the long-term viability of the organization and to determine potential future paths forward.
The Warriors remain proud of what has been built and hopeful for what may still lie ahead.
