The Slow-Motion Hip Drill for Consistent Irons

Comment “IRONS” and I will send you the full lesson!

Forget the golf club for a moment. How much can your pelvis comfortably rotate in both directions?

Use an alignment stick through your belt loops and rehearse the movement slowly:
1. Make your backswing and watch both ends of the stick rotate like a Lazy Susan.
2. Begin the downswing by moving the right side toward the golf ball as the left side works behind you.
3. When your right elbow reconnects to your side—roughly when the shaft would be parallel to the ground—get your pelvis back to square.
4. Continue rotating through the shot.

It doesn’t matter whether your body allows 10, 20, 30 or 40 degrees of rotation. What matters is creating a movement you can recover from consistently.

Master the movement without a club before adding speed.

I work with golfers just like you through personalized coaching (in-person & online).

What Am I Doing?! That’s Still 5 Feet Away 😳

What am I doing?!

Want to watch the full challenge - Comment “ Golf” and I will send you the Full Video

I know we’re trying to make birdies, but you can’t get so aggressive that you leave yourself five feet coming back. Suddenly, a birdie opportunity becomes a stressful par putt—and one mistake can completely change the round.
Thankfully, the comeback putt went in to keep me even through three holes.

The pressure is building in the 3-Hole Challenge. 👀⛳️
After both of us come up short of the green, it all comes down to the putters. One of us has 18 feet, the other has 12—but who can capitalize?
Watch until the end to see who takes control heading into the final hole!

Think of Your Hips Like a Lazy Susan

Comment “IRONS” and I will send you the full lesson!

How much can your pelvis actually rotate in the golf swing?
For many golfers, the answer may be around 50 degrees—and that’s completely fine. Your goal shouldn’t be to force more rotation than your body can comfortably produce.

Instead, think of your pelvis like a Lazy Susan.

A Lazy Susan rotates from both sides around a stable center. Your pelvis should work the same way throughout the golf swing:
* Both sides contribute during the backswing.
* Both sides reverse direction during the downswing.
* The pelvis rotates around the center of your body.

Understanding how both sides work together can make your movement more balanced, repeatable and consistent—especially with your irons.

Save this golf-swing visual and use it during your next practice session.
