That’s a wrap on Championship Sunday 🏆

8U went undefeated this weekend in Clermont. We outscored our opponents 71-12, allowing only 4 runs in total to score today in the championship game vs Oviedo Lady Outlaws. A huge round of applause for the lockdown defense, big at bats and team effort from each and every one of our players 👏👏

Congratulations on back to back gold bracket championship wins, girls! We are so unbelievably proud of you!

SUMTER STORM 10U brought the fight all day Saturday, finishing 1–1 in a pair of hard-fought matchups at Legends Way.⚡🥎

The Storm opened the day in a tight battle against the Palm Coast Panthers, coming up just short in a 6–5 finish despite outhitting their opponent 6–2. **Mikaela O** delivered the highlight of the game with an inside-the-park home run, going 2-for-2 with three RBIs. **Bristol G** also had a big day at the plate with two hits.

Then the Storm bounced back in a big way, taking down Florida Flash 10U **10–2**. **Kennedy A** owned the circle, throwing her **first career no-hitter** over four innings while striking out four. The Storm also showed patience and speed, drawing eight walks and swiping six bases.

These girls battled through every inning, picked each other up, and played with heart from start to finish. Proud of this Storm squad!

8U Gold Bracket Champions 🏆🏆🏆

Sumter Storm won the championship game vs. Tampa Heat 13-6 in 5 innings. Our overall record for the weekend was 5-0.

Every single player contributed in a major way and gave 100% effort. We scored a total of 67 runs this tournament with only 29 scored against us. Proud is an understatement.

Three years ago, when Sumter Storm was just getting started, this little sign meant more to us than most people probably realized.

The Sandlot.

It was one of the first things that truly felt like ours — a place for our girls to practice, compete, grow, make memories, and build something together. Three years later, it still represents the heart and soul of what we want this organization to be.
And today was a pretty good reminder of that.
When our girls' fields needed some attention, people from our community showed up. Tractors, rakes, equipment, time, sweat — whatever was needed. Nobody had to do it. They did it because they care about these kids and wanted them to have a field they could be proud to play on.
That's what community looks like.
To every parent, friend, and person who gave up part of their day to help — thank you. Our girls may not understand everything that went into getting these fields ready, but we do.
Sumter Storm has never just been about softball. It's about the people willing to show up for these girls and for each other.
Three years later, The Sandlot is still our heart. 💙🥎
