Eight year old Aria Hawker from Dayton Ohio took her first ever fishing trip on the beautiful Indian River Lagoon. While her dad had grown up in Ft. Pierce and never caught a permit, she didn't understand what the big deal was about catching one, as she caught TWO that day!!

In spite of some not so perfect conditions lately (still better than most of the County), we are still catching fish. Mike Roberts from Maryland actually caught some snook on fly in cold, windy conditions with 60 degree water!

Wow, four months since I posted, really?! Well fishing this summer has been good, with plenty of quality snook, tarpon, snapper, and even some permit. The mullet run is now going on and the fish are taking advantage of the bounty. Remember that only tarpon under forty inches like the one Pete McCloud is holding, can be removed from the water. He got one over a hundred pounds that day also!
