We all struggle. We just don’t all share our struggles with the world. Most of us don’t expose our flaws, our raw hard moments.

Can you imagine if we all posted all the cheat meals and binges instead of the healthy ones?

What if we posted our feet under the covers when we decided to sleep through our alarm clock instead of going to the gym?

Or how about announcing to the world that we have gained 5lbs instead of posting a story about our weight loss victories? Who wants to do that? No one.

We live in a world where everyone blasts the best parts of their day, their best staged photo complete with filters or AI help to perfect it even more, their best moments, and anything they do right (and hide the rest). No wonder so many people struggle with depression and loneliness.

We compare our normal life with everyone else’s seemingly perfect one.

Here are sone things to ponder along with some encouragement I wrote a while back. 🙂

Have you ever thought life was just harder for you, weight loss was just harder for you or you just felt like you seem to constantly get the short end of the stick? You aren’t alone. The world we live in almost encourages comparison. With photo filters that erase wrinkles and so many opportunities...

Progress isn’t always obvious or fast, and it sure isn’t easy. Sometimes it’s painfully slow.

When doctors told me it would take time for me to recover and I would continue to have these vertigo symptoms until my brain relearned what is normal, I thought I’d wake up one morning obviously feeling better. That did not happen. 17 days later, if I am even experiencing any progress at all, it’s minuscule. But I am going to FOCUS on the fact that I WILL get better and ACCEPT the fact it will take time.

They said it would take at least a couple of weeks for me to start feeling better, and I thought that meant I’d wake up one morning 30% or 50% better after that 2 week mark. Instead, I realize it might be more like waking up to feeling one or 2% better - but better is still better even if I barely feel it.

Isn’t that also how our health and fitness journey is? You could lose a few ounces here and there, but they add up to pounds.

You can improve your health and eventually you’ll see an improvement in your bloodwork. You can work to improve your strength and you will increase weight, even if it’s only 5-10lbs.

But, it’s not like people will come up to you and say “wow you look stronger” or “I bet your blood work is amazing”. lol It’s just something you’ll slowly notice as long as you stick with it.

Sometimes the biggest and hardest thing you can do is show up and do the do when you barely can tell you are making any headway.

Anyone can show up to the gym or eat the good food when you obviously see the payoff. But to do it even when you feel like progress is slow, when you have setbacks, when you mess up, when you have life happen
THAT’s some tough stuff right there!

Be proud every day you decide to keep trying. đŸ’ȘđŸŒ

Here is a little thing I do to stay motivated... it's small but it helps me maybe it will help you.

Investing in your health is not only a smart investment, it gives you a mental boost too. I don't just mean joining a gym or hiring a coach. Even the smallest little thing, like a new water bottle or a new workout tank can mentally psych you up for your workouts.

Do you find that to be true for you too?

Fear is the #1 reason people procrastinate when it comes to joining a gym. Fear of the unknown, fear of feeling lost or embarrassed. That is why I focus SO MUCH on community, support and trying so hard to make people feel comfortable. If I can't make them comfortable, they will never come back.

If you are in the fitness industry, never forget what you felt like the very first day you walked into a gym.

INTERACTIVE POST - questions below!

When I was a little girl, my dad always said “pretty is as pretty does”, meaning a person’s true beauty is defined by their kind actions, character, and behavior, rather than their physical appearance. It suggests that good deeds make a person truly beautiful, while unkind behavior negates physical attractiveness.

I never would’ve dreamed I would continue to replay that in my head all these years. However, you never really truly understand how powerful inner beauty is until your outer beauty noticeably fades.

God constantly wants us to work on improving our character, increasing in love, patience, forgiveness, integrity, Grace, kindness, etc. It is a task that will keep us busy for a lifetime.

Chasing anything else is like chasing the wind. Praying I can stay focus on what is most important and not get caught up in all the things out there marketing to my aging desires. Omg! It’s SO easy to try every aging cream and remedy!

QUESTIONS:

What gimmick have you fallen for?

What product, method, etc have you actually found was worth the effort or price tag?

What have you learned as you have gotten older?
