This post comes with sadness and excitement.
The last 5 years have been extremely gratifying for me as a business owner and coach. I have watched many of you grow as athletes and individuals. I have witnessed many people reach their fitness goals and experience incredible achievements in and out of the gym. I'm proud to say that you have been not only my members but many of you have become my closest friends.
As you are aware, the pandemic made the success of the gym come to a grinding halt. I was on a trajectory to be profitable in 2020 and had visions to grow the business and eventually relocate to a larger space to accommodate more members. Unfortunately, that didn't happen and I have struggled to reach pre-pandemic numbers ever since.
Back in December, I was approached by someone interested in my space to open a cannabis dispensary retail store. After much deliberation and many conversations, I have agreed to move forward and will be involved as a General Manager and part owner.
This store will not only bring many more jobs to the community than my business ever could, it will create much-needed revenue for the township which will be allocated to many amazing programs as well as supporting the police, fire, and EMS departments.
With this said, I will be closing the gym on August 1 to accommodate this new opportunity.
I love you all and thank you from the bottom of my heart for making CrossFit Skunk and Chase Strength & Conditioning the fantastic place it has been for the last 5 years! It is because of ALL OF YOU that have made this dream of mine come true.
I am eternally grateful to have been your coach and to watch all of you grow into badass athletes.
As I enter into this new chapter of my life, I will forever be a coach at heart and will always be available to you for fitness guidance.
As always, if you have any questions, my door is always open. Please feel free to call, text, email, visit, etc. I would love to hear your thoughts and feedback.
With much love & gratitude,
Deb
