Guess what, Derby Nation! We’re launching a new program called Comm-UNITY Roll Out where our neighbors in surrounding communities can skate with us FOR FREE!
That’s right! Adults of any gender can join one of our 8-week Derby Por Vida courses, while kiddos 7-17 who are female, female-identifying, or who are non-binary can attend 12 weeks’ worth of classes in the Juniors program, all gratis. Folks who live or work in Vernon, Bell, Boyle Heights, Commerce, Huntington Park, Maywood, or the unincorporated parts of East LA are welcome to participate in this program.
Derby Por Vida (DPV) is an on-skates exercise program and the training ground for future Derby Dolls, our Enforcers Ref Crew, or those just looking to add something different into their workout routine. Both the DPV and Juniors programs have classes suitable for any level of skater—even those who are skating for the very first time!
(*Also! No need to have your own skates. Loaner skates, knee and elbow pads, and helmets are available!)
