A busy day at the Pete as Doug Leikness, Madison,WI took the lead at the Petersen Classic today. He shot an impressive 1663 to move just ahead of John Kelley, Clinton TWSP, MI who shot 1656 earlier this year. Doug had 6 games over 200, including a final game 242. Where he had the front 7, before having a lane breakdown and having to finish on the breakdown pair.

Squad Organizer Scott Erickson, Sun Prairie, WI put together an impressive squad of bowlers with 4 bowlers moving into the top 10 in the standings. Joining Doug are Christopher Gibbons, Madison, WI -1616, Collin Krachey, Madison, WI - 1615 and Brent Ritchie, Verona, WI - 1598. With 19 bowlers over 1400, including 8 over 1500, their squad also took the lead in the Pete with a pin count of 45,196, taking the lead from Shawn Lavender’s squad that bowled a 44,765 yesterday.

Fantastic bowling by all today.

8 squads still to bowl over the final two weekends of the Pete. Will these score stand over the next two weekends, or will another squad and bowler take the lead.

Scott Erickson, Sun Prairie, WI brings a Monday squad to the Pete. This is his third time bringing a squad, taking over for his father, David. Pictured with his son Brody, who is looking forward to possibly bowling next year. Good luck to all the bowlers!!!

Shawn Lavender, Waynesboro, VA brought another impressive squad to the Pete this year. As a squad they took the lead with a pin count of 44,675. Liz Johnson came close to taking the overall lead at the Pete with a pin count of 1634. She takes over second place overall and is the current women’s leader. Congratulations to Liz and all the bowlers on Shawn’s sqaud.

Joe Hoefs, West Allis, WI was our first squad this morning, coming south today from Wisconsin(Unfortunately did not get a picture of Joe). This was Joe's 15 squad and his 35th time bowling the Pete. There were some good games bowled today by the squad.

A few more H5G $50 voucher winners for bowling a 215 game or higher at the Pete today while wearing a H5G jersey. Joseph Beck, Oregon, OH; Hunter Royer, Sylvania, OH and Craig Sigeti, Lititz, PA earned their vouchers today.

Darrin Turner, Canton, MI has two squads at the Pete today. This is his 7th year as a squad organizer and he is bowling the Pete for the 10th time. Best of luck to both squads today!!!

Brian Papp, Downers Grove, IL believes this is his 20th squad he has brought to the Pete. This year he brings his son, Marshall, bowling in his first Pete! Always nice to see a future squad organizer bowling their first Pete. Also nice to see Sharon and the crew from Minnesota that join Brian’s squad!!

Quincy Bruce, Cedar Rapids, IA is our second squad of the day. Last year unable to get a picture, but this year here he is. This is his 4th squad that he has brought, and his 7th time he has bowled the Pete. Good luck to all!!!
