Hi students and families!
This week during our classes our students have been learning about the importance of attending every class. Disciplined attendance is a very important part of class.
We understand that summer can be busy with family trips and things and sometimes we get sick and need to skip. Those things we understand.
However, missing class just for the sake of missing can really hinder your student's learning in the class.
Here are some facts we learned about:
Students missing 2 or more classes per month are missing 50 % or more of their education for that month.
Our classes build upon each other, so missing can put you behind.
Missing too many classes can make you feel disconnected from your classmates/ feeling left out or behind.
Students testing from White- green belt need to have 15 attendance before being eligible for testing.
Students testing from Camo - Red Belt need to have 30 attendance before being eligible for testing.
Students testing from Brown to 1st Dan need to have 42 attendance in a 12 month period to be eligible for black belt test. Which means they can only miss 6 classes in a whole year.
This shows that the student is dedicated to their goal of testing to their next rank. "If you want the belt you will come and learn the skills you need to earn it"
Higher Black Belt Ranks also have consecutive training attendance requirements for testing, meaning even Mrs. Stephenie has to be accountable if she wants to belt test.
We understand life happens but we hope you can understand why your attendance is so important to your goals.
PS we also like to see your smiling faces in class each week.
Thanks,
White Tiger Taekwondo
