I’m super proud of my youth athletes in my summer program. Most of them have football, tennis or baseball practices, but find the time to get workouts in. That’s dedication, especially when you think about how old they are. If you want an edge on other athletes, do what they are doing and put the time in off the field to get stronger and faster. Their form might not be perfect yet, but they are working on it every week. The younger ones are building a great base to build off once they get to high school, and the older ones are making strength and power gains every session. Our workout consists of a dynamic warm up, medball throws, plyos, linear or multidirectional movement drills, core/injury prevention, and then a full body strength workout. It’s been really cool to see them pump each other up and be so motivated to work out.
