The basketball world lost a great coach and VC Women’s Basketball lost a great friend Tuesday with the passing of Bob Kloppenburg. A longtime NBA coach, Bob was always willing to share his expertise with us at VC. He was the driving force behind our We Play Hard Coaches Clinics in 2004-2006 featuring Bob, Tex Winter, Tim Grgurich, Geroge Karl, Stan Van Gundy and Van Chancellor, among others. Bob’s son Gary, a longtime WNBA coach, helped our program as a Professional Expert and his granddaughter Carlotta played at VC in 2011 and 2012. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Bob’s wife Gayle, his children Gary and Kim, and his 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Four distinguished honorees will be introduced as the newest Hall of Fame members and each of the Pirates' 19 intercollegiate sports will send their best and brightest to be recognized for outstanding achievement on the playing field and in the classroom.
