Lead experiences, not just poses

What if the student with the biggest challenge is actually the one who can teach us to become better teachers?

When I see a student with knocked knees, I know that Chair Pose may feel especially awkward for them.

And that’s my cue to start thinking differently.

Not just about Chair Pose—but about how I can approach movement in a way that supports *their* body.

What can I change?
What can I explore?
What other pathways can I offer?

This is where intelligent teaching begins.

It’s about thinking outside the box instead of trying to make every body fit the same pose.

And when we learn to accommodate the student who has the biggest challenge, we often create better options for **everyone**.

Because our goal isn’t to make every student look the same.

Our goal is to give every student the opportunity to feel successful in their own body.

TEACH PEOPLE - NOT POSES

What would change in your teaching if you started looking beyond the pose? 👇

Every teacher has a mentor.

Before SurFlow™. Before becoming the Architect of the Body™. Before I was teaching others how to rebuild trust in their bodies, I had a mentor who changed the way I looked at movement. Linda Suffin

What impacted me most wasn’t being told what to teach. It was being encouraged to observe, question, and discover.
We studied alignment in great depth, but not as a list of rules. We learned to understand the body’s foundation and mechanism.

Where do the hands go?
Where do the feet go?
What creates stability before we even enter a pose?

Because before movement comes FOUNDATION.

Then comes MECHANISM—the relationship between the feet, hips, inner and outer rotation, open and closed hip positions, and how these elements influence the body’s ability to move efficiently and safely.

As a trained architect, this fascinated me.
I began to see the human body as a masterpiece of engineering. Every structure has a purpose. Every movement has a consequence. Every compensation tells a story.

I was already listening to the body, but this training taught me to become curious about why the body was responding the way it did. That curiosity never left.

Today, whether I am teaching SurFlow™, working with someone recovering from injury, or helping a client reconnect to their strength, I am still inspired by the same thing:

THE INCREDIBLE ARCHITECTURE OF THE HUMAN BODY.

“Zip up your belly”
“Close your ribcage”

Ever wondered what those cues actually mean?

As an Architect of the Body™, I teach alignment through connection—not force.

A block between the feet. A block between the hands. The right pressure in the right places. Suddenly, the pelvic floor, core, ribs, and shoulders begin working together.

Now imagine practicing this for just 30 seconds, a few times a day. How would your posture change? How would your body feel?

Small adjustments. Big transformation.

Everything starts with the mind-body connection.

Your body is always telling you a story. The question is: are you ready to listen?

For years, many of us have been taught that if something feels tight, we should stretch it.

But what if tightness isn’t asking for more length?
What if it’s asking for more support?
This is where Yin and Yang come into play.
Yin gives us mobility, flexibility, and space.
Yang gives us stability, strength, and control.
Too much Yin without Yang can leave the body unstable.
Too much stretching without strength can create even more compensation patterns.
The goal isn’t to become more flexible.
The goal is to create a body that feels safe, supported, and strong.
When you learn to connect your mind to your movement, your body begins to reveal what it truly needs.
Not what social media says.
Not what worked for someone else.
Your body has the answers.
You just have to learn how to listen.

✨ Stretch less.
✨ Connect more.
✨ Build intelligent strength.

What has your body been trying to tell you lately?

Most people run to get faster - I RUN TO LISTEN

To the rythem of my breath.
To the sound of my feet touching the ground.
To the conversation between my mind and my body.

When those two are connected, movement changes.

Your breath becomes your guide.
Your pace adjusts naturally.
Your body tells you what it needs, and you learn to listen.

This is what I teach in every practice, whether it’s on a yoga may, a balance board, in the gym, or out on a run.

Mind-body connection isn’t just for yoga.
It is a skill you can take into every activity and every season of life.
