Venice is a year round fishery that allows the angler the opportunity to catch trophy speckled trout, sight cast for redfish in the marsh ponds, the opportunity to catch bull reds on light tackle, flounder, tarpon and world class off-shore action. We provide first class trips for the novice, the family, the hardcore trophy angler or corporate outings. For all of my fall fisherman, October and everything in the first three weeks of November is all booked out, but don’t forget about December and January, if we have a mild winter like we had last year, we will have some unbelievable fishing in those two months.

Over the last 2 weeks the river dropped from 8’ to 3’ at the New Orleans guage, and it should stay down all the way until spring time.

That means clean water in the delta and the fish should eat it up.

Started the trip 1st cast, Magnum trout and an attitude,
2nd cast fish coming in before I can see it, catfish side fin in the thigh, buried to the butt.

I told grampa you need to yank that out. Knowing it would do tissue damage and might require a trip to the hospital I didn’t see any other choice. Yank; trip; and when grandpa came back we had added a bunch more fish to the box, just think if we’d have had all day?
