After years of teaching at the literal #1 rated surf school in Los Angeles on Yelp and TripAdvisor, a school I built myself from scratch in 2009 starting with 1 Costco Wavestorm and a few old wetsuits, I’ve distilled the top beginner and intermediate surfing mistakes I’ve watched clients make in circles over the course of thousands of lessons in California and Hawaii into short rhymes that serve as highly effective mnemonic devices. ⚡️🙌💥🌊🎉

Each one is paired with entertaining illustrations 🎨🖌️ designed to expedite the learning curve while making each concept resonate as seamlessly as possible.

From positioning and reading waves to avoiding chaos in the lineup and dangerous beginner mistakes, every page is built around real-world patterns I’ve seen countless times in the ocean.

1 year ago today I had the opportunity to surf the biggest “town” (Honolulu) I have ever seen on my 10’4” 🚀… Today it was flat 😭… Hurricane 🌊 heading our way in the nxt 24-72 ish hrs though 🙌✨💥❤️🙏 for 🌊🌊🌊
