Week 8:

I had a strong week cutting out sugar, five solid days without it. I did have a cookie on Saturday and another on Sunday, but I’m right back on track. The plan now is five more days of no sugar.

I was really happy with my weigh-in this week, which tells me the changes are working. Throughout the week, I swapped out my usual snacks for sugar-free popsicles and sugar-free Jell-O. Not cold turkey exactly, but definitely a step in the right direction compared to where I started.

I’m going to keep building on this momentum into next week and see how much more progress I can make. This is a marathon, not a sprint, and I’m in it for the long haul.

Week 5-7
Oh, how easy it is to fall behind, especially when it feels like nothing is really changing. I’ve finally come to terms with something: I’m just not someone who can handle a “small treat” every day. Once I start with sugar, chocolate, candy, whatever it is, I can’t seem to stop.

So today, I’m going all in: zero junk. We have our second weigh-in this Sunday, and it’s time to really buckle down and focus this week. I’m hoping one week without sugar turns into two, then three, and keeps going from there.

Does anyone else feel this way? I’m starting to think cold turkey might be the best approach for me. Bring on the headache! 🥺

So I’m two weeks late on my Week 3 update?!? I am still here, finally feeling motivated again!

Week 3 and 4:

Honestly, sometimes it takes a full month or more to really get into the groove and start seeing progress. In that first month, I “felt”like I was making changes, but looking back… I really wasn’t as consistent as I thought. Now things are finally starting to click. ❤️

The scale is moving, and we had our first weigh-in. Somehow I landed in second place for weight loss, which honestly surprised me, but I’ll take it!

One of the biggest changes I’ve made is cutting back on fat intake. As most of you know, fat has 9 calories per gram, while carbs and protein only have 4. That adds up fast. Lowering my fat has really helped me stay within my macros more consistently.

So while I’m still doing a Tier 1 carnivore approach: mostly meat, cheese, eggs, and fruit, I’m not going heavy on fats like a traditional carnivore diet. It’s definitely a mindset shift, but so far, it’s working.

The scale is moving, I’m feeling better, and we’ll see what next week brings!

Week 2 update: The scale hasn’t really moved, so it’s time to tighten things up a bit. Over the past couple of weeks, my protein intake has ranged anywhere from 100–130 grams per day. Moving forward, the goal is to consistently hit at least 125 grams of protein daily.
It’s also time to cut back on the snacks. While I’ve stayed within my calorie range, I know those calories would be better spent on more nutritionally dense foods instead of chocolate candy. So that’s the focus going forward.
I’m not ready to cut calories yet, but I am going to start eating within an 8-hour window each day to help create a little more structure.
I always like to give myself the first couple of weeks to ease into a routine: tracking consistently, figuring out what works, and settling into the plan. Now that I’ve done that, it’s time to tighten things up and be a little more consistent.
Same plan, just more discipline. 💪

**Week 1 Update**

Not too much to report for week one, but overall it was a solid start. I stayed within my daily calorie goal every single day, and the biggest win was sticking with it through the weekend. (Even while out of town!) That’s usually where things can fall apart, so I’m counting that as a big success.

The scale is down a little, but let’s be honest, I definitely enjoyed myself a bit too much before starting this, so it’s probably just settling back to my normal weight. Either way, I’ll take it!

I’ve been hitting my protein goals every day, which has helped a lot with staying full and on track. I’m still enjoying a few treats here and there, but the difference is that I feel much more in control instead of feeling like I’ve gone completely off the rails.

The plan for week two is simple: keep doing exactly what I’m doing and stay consistent. If the scale stops moving, we’ll reassess and possibly tighten up the daily calories a bit. For now, steady and sustainable is the goal. 💪

Well, it’s that time of year again, swimsuit season is coming.☀️ Can you believe we’re only 12 weeks away from Memorial Day? That’s still plenty of time to make real progress… but it’s also time to stop procrastinating.
I’m calling this 12 Weeks to Hot Mom Summer and I’d love for you to join me!

Here’s my plan:
I’m going back to counting macros. I really enjoyed carnivore, but I also enjoy ice cream now and then, and this time I’m focusing on balance. My goal is to eat meat, eggs, cheese, and fruit about 90% of the time, keeping that carnivore mindset, while allowing a few extras without feeling like I’ve “failed.” Consistency over perfection.
I’ll share a weekly progress update here, not every tiny detail, just enough to stay accountable and hopefully motivate you along the way.

A little life and diet update because hello, I’m human. I fully enjoyed a week of eating all the treats I wanted, no regrets. The surprising part? All the aches and pains I thought had quietly disappeared came roaring back. Heel pain, sore fingers, bloating… all of it in full swing. These things had been gone for so long I honestly thought they were behind me for good.

This is day 4 of getting it back together, I’ve dropped 3 pounds of pure inflammation. And yes, I “gained” 10 pounds in a week, but let’s be real… that wasn’t fat. That was inflammation and water retention doing their thing.

So, lesson learned. Back to carnivore I go: meat, eggs, cheese, and berries. My body is much happier here, and I’m listening.

The kids are back in school, and I finally carved out a little time just for me! 🎉 I recently had my labs done through Transcend, and honestly, I was pleasantly surprised with the whole experience.
As I’ve mentioned before, I expected my LDL to rise with a carnivore diet, and yes, my levels are a bit higher than last year (though not crazy high). But guess what? The doctors at Transcend weren’t the least bit concerned. Not even a whisper about statins! 🙌 My HDL (the “good” cholesterol that helps clean out plaque) is actually higher, which is a win in my book.
I learned more in a single 30 minute phone call about my labs than I have in years with a traditional in house doctor. For example, my MCHC was a little low (hadn’t even heard of that before), but that’s an easy B12 fix.
Here’s how it worked:
✨ First, I met with an advisor who went through my labs in detail, suggested some peptides/medications, and explained everything clearly, with zero pressure to buy a thing.
✨ Then, a few days later, I had a virtual visit with a nurse practitioner who gave me all the time I needed. I asked a bunch of questions and never once felt rushed.
Peptides do sound amazing (and I’ve seen good results), but wow… they come with a hefty price tag. 💸 A 4-month supply was over a grand, so I’ll wait until there’s more long term data before hopping on that train.
👉 And here’s something worth noting: if you’re interested in hormone medications that most in house doctors shy away from prescribing, Transcend is the place to get them. They actually listen and help find what works for you.
The best part? Everything is done online and shipped straight to your door. The only “inconvenience” was traveling to Louisville for labs, but I just turned it into a shopping day. 🛍️
Overall, I’m really happy with this company and the whole process. I’ll recheck labs in 4 months and, if things look good, I can switch to a yearly blood panel.
If you’ve ever been frustrated with rushed doctor visits or closed doors on certain treatments, I can’t recommend trying an online service like this enough. So simple, so easy, and actually informative. 💡
Let me know if you’re curious, I’m happy to share more!
Oh and if you haven’t gone carnivore yet, I don’t know what you are waiting for!?!? Down 10 pounds and feeling amazing.

Day 39 Carnivore Update

And you thought you were rid of me, not so fast! Just popping in with a quick update on my carnivore journey. Still holding strong for the most part. I did decide to indulge in a piece of cake because, hey, life’s short, right? Well, turns out my body didn’t agree, I gained three pounds overnight from inflammation. Three! It came off quickly, but wow, talk about an eye-opener. Still, no regrets, that cake was so worth it.

I’ve also been enjoying a bit more fruit variety lately, watermelon and oranges have made their way onto my plate, and so far, no noticeable downsides. I’ve never bothered to check ketones, so who knows if I’ve ever truly been in ketosis, but I’m not losing sleep over it. I’m down another pound this week, so clearly something is working!

On the health check front, I’ve been researching online doctors and found two good options: Function Health and Transcend. I’m leaning towards Transcend because they’ve answered every single question, their prices are better, and they actually have doctors you can talk to. Function Health seems fine too but feels more like a lab only service. I haven’t even figured out how to talk to a real person yet. I’m planning to run some labs in August, so I’ll share all the details then.

All in all, I’d honestly encourage anyone to give carnivore a try, I just keep finding new positives. 🥩✨

Day 30: I Did It (Mostly!)

I made it through 30 days! While I had a few small slip ups along the way, I’m honestly proud of myself. I started out skeptical, especially about the whole “you need fiber to poop” thing but here I am, myth busted and feeling surprisingly good.

The first three weeks were amazing. I had steady energy, minimal cravings, and my body responded well. This last week, though, has been tough. I’ve started questioning whether this way of eating is sustainable long term. I'm hoping that’s just my cycle talking and not a true reflection of how I feel overall.

What I do know is this: the fat loss has been real. I’m down 2.4% body fat that’s 5.5 pounds of fat gone, and 7.4 pounds total. Not bad at all for 30 days! While I don’t see a drastic difference in my progress pictures(left is after), I feel it. My clothes fit better, I feel lighter, and maintaining a calorie deficit felt almost effortless.

I plan to keep going for another month, aiming for that summer body. I’ll be honest, I miss potatoes and more fruit variety. I’d love to continue not snacking and not eating so late.

The bottom line? Don’t knock a diet until you try it. This way of eating is doable, effective, and it makes you feel good. Would it be hard to maintain forever? Maybe. But for now, I’m riding the wave and seeing where it takes me.
That short tan line though😂

Day 28:
Yesterday was day 27 of carnivore, and only my second day dealing with real cravings, so all things considered, that’s not too bad. The biggest key for me is staying full and keeping plenty of meat prepped and ready in the fridge for when hunger strikes, which was not the case yesterday.

I did give in to a slice of cheesecake, because I was starving. I mean, it’s just cheese, right? Could be worse. Even after dinner, I was still feeling hungry, so I had another round of meat around 7 p.m.

That night? I slept terribly, tossed and turned, had weird dreams, and kept waking up. I’m starting to really believe in the idea of not eating after 4 or 5 p.m. Definitely something I will continue!

Have you ever watched Barbara O’Neil? She shares a lot of wisdom that actually aligns with carnivore, like eating breakfast like a king and supper like a pauper. It just makes sense. Give the body time to digest before bed.

Overall, even with a minor slip and a rough night of sleep, I’m still moving in the right direction. This journey isn’t about perfection. It’s about learning what works for my body, and trying something new.
