Colby Equestrian

Colby Equestrian Colby College's co-ed, multi year equestrian club and competitive riding team The Colby College Equestrian Club is an active campus organization.

The team is a recognized club sport at Colby College, and is active through the entire school year. While a number of our riders compete at home shows, competing is certainly not a requirement—many students simply enjoy riding and improving their skills in weekly lessons with our instructors. In addition to showing, the team participates in numerous clinics, community days and fun shows. The team

also gets together for dinners once a semester. Colby Equestrian welcomes riders with little or no experience as well as seasoned competitors. Team lessons take place at Lupine Farm in Vassalboro, Maine. It’s about 25 minutes from campus. Lessons typically take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We complete a scheduling process at the start of every semester to create our lesson and carpool groups. We offer semester packages for students to pay for upfront which covers either once weekly or twice weekly lessons. Lupine farm also offers partial leases for more advanced riders. Colby Equestrian is open to students from all grades and is co-ed. Send us a message if you have any questions!

Meet Emily! Another one of the club's co-captains! Emily is a junior majoring in Environmental Science and Global Studies on a Pre-Med track. She is from Dartmouth, MA and has been riding since she was seven. She competed in IEA for 3 years. Her favorite thing about being on the team is meeting all the new riders and getting to see all the animals at the barn (like baby goats and horses!!).
