This week we lost a treasured member of our farm at 35 years old. Pizazz was loved and adored by many throughout her time. She left lasting impressions on the hearts of those she taught and influenced. Pizazz was born into Kirstin’s family via her Aunt Sue in July 1986, who had dressage intentions for the filly. Pizazz soon found her place with Kirstin teaching young and beginner riders the ropes. She was the definition of bombproof. Her résumé includes dressage, Hunter/Jumper, trail riding, archery, games pony, babysitter of those with four legs and two, Trick pony, track pony and so much more. She spent nearly a decade ponying out young race horses with Pete and Kirstin, saving lives with each stride. If you needed a horse for something, whether that be strapping a car seat to her back and placing her in the middle of the arena, doing cartwheels off her back or a mount for the zombie apocalypse she was your girl. It’s a rare blessing for a horse to spend its entire life with the same family. While she has left impossible horse shoes to fill, we are grateful her one family was ours. This magical unicorn will forever be remembered. Rest peacefully sweet girl.
