I usually don't address negatively but there has been a couple nay sayers, Debbie downers, negative Nancy's, trolls, man Karen's saying things like I'm trying to glorify an already glorious lake and motivating things like I won't make any money and I will sell all the kayaks one day because I will fail. 😁
I have already succeeded many times at many things and failed just as much in between. All while being respectful and kind.
Fact is kayaks have been rented from the same location for 10 years. With enough success that the previous owner paid her bills and went on a vacation every year. That to me is success, she also hired a teenager to work that is now a firefighter again success! She with her kind heart she also paid a bright young man to clean the beach area. Which helped him be involved and make some cash another amazing success.
There will always be someone with out vision who was raised with out class that speaks fast and thinks slow. Not all people see the value of being part of a community and how internally valuable it is to give locals something affordable and fun to enjoy with their family. Especially in these times when prices for everything is astronomical. We could sell pops, chips and ice cream at prices like the fair or at the fire works. We choose to sell them for $1.00. Yes they might be cheaper at the grocery store but they are five times the price at the movie theater or the race track.
Despite what others might think. I already have all I need. I chose to build this business instead of many others I could have done I could have retired. Instead I wanted to be around people who want to enjoy nature, lakes, rivers, family and friends.
Don't let anyone gaslight you from reaching your goals and doing good things. Riches come in many other forms than money.
Never stop knocking down obstacles to build your happy place. It's the Otterly thing to do.
