At 5:08am Pacific Time, Peace can be seen exit the nest in a fledging attempt. We have confirmed that he is not on the ground and we are trying to see if he is on another branch at this time. We will update when we know more, and may reposition the camera temporarily in this process. Please do not contact staff at Royal Oaks.

It is with heavy hearts that we share that Harmony, one of the two eaglets nesting near Royal Oaks, has passed away.

After falling from the nest on Friday, June 5, Harmony was observed safely perched on a nearby branch . Unfortunately, she fell from the tree sometime midday on Saturday, June 6. Royal Oaks staff and volunteers immediately contacted the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife and were advised that, under state and federal wildlife protection regulations, we were not permitted to intervene.

Throughout the evening and overnight hours, several dedicated members of our community remained nearby, keeping watch and hoping for a positive outcome. On Sunday morning, June 7, representatives from the Department of Fish & Wildlife arrived and confirmed that Harmony had passed during the early morning hours. They respectfully removed her remains and assured us that everyone involved had done all that was legally and appropriately possible under the circumstances.

While we are deeply saddened by the loss of Harmony, we remain hopeful for her sibling, Peace, who continues to grow and develop in the nest. We are grateful for the compassion shown by our members, staff, and community throughout this difficult experience.

Nature can be both inspiring and heartbreaking, and Harmony's short life touched many who followed her journey. Thank you to everyone who cared, watched, and hoped alongside us.

At approximately 11:45am, one of the eaglets fell from the nest. We are investigating the condition of the eaglet and will take every precaution with the bird.

Please understand that these are wild animals, and both birds are approaching the time that they fledge, this is a natural process that has been happening for a very long time.

We noticed recently that there are two eggs, rumor is that the second one appeared Sunday sometime. Check out this mornings cool exchange.

This afternoon we watched them swap and give Mom a break. Dad was seen checking things out and spending some time covering the egg from this morning then snuggling in.
