This is the most wonderful and most important event that we do every year! We enjoyed all the children that have participated in this event over the last 9 years! We were figuring up how many rod/reel combos we have given away over these years and it was over 300!
Kids, keep on fishing and thank you!

I just want to thank Val Bashore, our sister-in-law, for taking all of this great photos of the kids fishing derby! She took ALL of them! All sets of photos of the kids fishing, kids receiving their prizes, and of the volunteers! She did a fantastic job!

Just want to say Thank You to all our volunteers this year for the kid's Peony Festivals Kids Fishing Derby: Erica and John Sudduth,
Matt Perry, Raymond Sudduth, Joe Clark, Serenity and Jacob Schwartz, Heather Allen, Justice Clark, Chase Clark, Hunter Sproles, Carter Bashore, Brendan Kiracofe, and last but not least Daniel Clark! Also thank you to our donors for all your contributions!
Thank you most of all to all you kids and to the parents that came out to fish! Without you kids showing up, this event would not be what it is!

Kids Fishing Derby is next Saturday morning.
Fishing starts at 9:00 AM. Come early to sign up and to get you spot! We will be registering the kids at the pavilion. Kids 2-13.
This is our 9th year doing the derby so please come out with the family and have a great time with the kids.
It is so fun to watch their excitement when catching 🐟🐟🐠🐠. Make your memories!!!

This will be our last time running this event and the biggest reason we haven’t closed our page down yet!! Please bring them little ones out to fish! Let’s make this the biggest and best fishing derby yet!! Deb and Porky along with those of us that help them out with this event each year love doing this for the kids. When they made the decision to close the shop earlier this year, the first thing that was said was “but we are still going to do the kids fishing derby one last time”. We cannot wait to see you all there!!
