We are continuing this tradition exactly the way it deserves to be presented not only to the old generations of Iranians living outside their homeland who loved this sport, but the new generations of Iranians who still have not experienced the truth of Varzesh-e-Bastani. One of the strong factors playing into the opening of this gym is the need for this sport in our daily lives. This sport not onl
y practices strength in body, but also discipline, moral purity, and spiritual growth. The traditional gymnasium now outside of Iran, is an academy of physical training, a school of strength and endurance, a nursery of warriors, has through the centuries acted as a conserver of Moral, ethical and mystical values. As a result, Varzesh-e Pahlavani emerged as a unique institution having incorporated the spiritual richness of Sufism, traditional rituals of Mithraism, and heroism of Iranian nationalism. The heroes of this academy are called Pahlavans. The history of Varzesh-e Pahlavani can be traced back to the Parthian Empire of Iran (132 BC - 226 AD). Even the word Pahlavan comes from Parthia (according to one of the most reliable sources on history of the ancient Iran, "History of Ancient Iran" by Hasan Pirnia). Our Mission:
-To promote the tradition of Pahlavani and its history to a worldwide audience.
-To restore the accuratre image and character of this forgotten tradition.
-To disseminate information to researchers and media organizations that wish to publish programs about Pahlavani tradition.
-To revive the true rituals of Pahlavani tradition.
-To clear misconceptions, misrepresentations and misinformation about Pahlavani.
-To build and promote a community of followers of Pahlavani tradition worldwide, not only in it's homeland. The monthly membership fees or per workout dues are more lucrative than a gym membership. We do welcome any and all contributions made by the athletes and the general public. We are attempting to present this sport just the way its done in our home land. We follow a moral and ethical path rather than a particular religion. Our doors are open to whomever is willing to come and enjoy this traditional sport with us.
