Congratulations to all of our high school students who competed in local District Tournaments. Of particular note are Sreekar and Saatvik who are moving on to States at #1 doubles in the 2A division and who will be competing next week in the Regional round with Middleton High. Rease, who made it to the finals of the #2 doubles flight for Strawberry Crest and will be competing in the Regional round next week following the team finishing 2nd in the District. Ishan and Karthik who will competing in the 4A Regional for Strawberry Crest. Chris, who made it to the finals of #2 singles and #1 doubles as a Freshman for Lennard High. Luke, Lander, Cole & Austen (where was he for the group pic?) for taking the #1, 2, 3 & 5 singles flights and #1 & 2 doubles flights and the team victory to take Newsome to the District victory to host the Regional matches next week (site TBD tomorrow) - and Luke & Lander qualifying for states with their singles & doubles wins. Last but certainly not least, Brody for going 1-1 in the #1 singles draw and playing extremely well against the eventual champion, Luke, in his final match representing Durant, as he now moves on to college! We congratulate them all on their hard work that led to their impressive tournament results!

Congrats to our players on the Newsome boys' team! In a home match at River Hills vs. Plant High, Buckhorn's own Luke & Lander took the top 2 singles positions, 8-1 & 8-4, respectively, and then followed that up with a convincing 8-1 doubles victory. After dropping the remaining 3 singles, with the match tied at 3-3, Senior co-Captain James and Buckhorn's Cole came back from a 1-6 deficit to win the #2 doubles line 9-7! This win lifts the Wolves to 4-0 on the year, with 3 more District opponent matches to finish out February.

Between the raindrops, we've had a great start to our Fall junior program! While success on court is a wonderful goal, safety is our 1st priority. We want all of our families to be familiar with Safe Play - a program that requires background checks and continuing education to aid in the safety of our young players. All Buckhorn on-court staff are Safe Play as well as RSPA/PTR certified. Learn more, here:

The USTA is committed to making every tennis experience an enjoyable and memorable one. To do so, we rely on the thousands of dedicated volunteers, coaches, officials, members, independent contractors, consultants and staff who contribute in their way to each event or program. New beginnings

Summer 2025 was amazing at Buckhorn Springs Racquet Club! The courts were packed, our juniors were not only learning in camp - but winning in USTA tournaments, and the rain was almost as much as we needed but not so much that we can really complain. But now it's time to get back to school and back to our "normal" routine. Our junior program will start back on the 18th of August and USTA/local leagues are about to begin, as well. We are also looking for new maintenance and teaching staff, while saying goodbye to one of our main professionals.

Farewell to Michael

It is with mixed emotions that we share the news that our Head Tennis Professional, Michael Baldemor, will be leaving Buckhorn Springs Racquet Club in a few weeks to begin an exciting new chapter at another club.

Michael has been a valued part of our family here since the club was revived nearly six years ago, and he has worked alongside me for almost eight years. His dedication to our players, from our youngest juniors to our most seasoned competitors, has helped shape the strong and welcoming tennis community we enjoy today.

While we will greatly miss Michael’s energy, passion, and good humor on the courts, we are excited for the opportunities ahead for him and wish him nothing but success in this next step.

Our commitment to offering outstanding youth and adult programming remains as strong as ever, and we look forward to continuing the growth and camaraderie that Michael has helped foster.

Please join me in thanking Michael for all he has done for Buckhorn Springs Racquet Club, and in wishing him well.

Search for New Team Members

We are currently engaging in searches, not only for new on-court professionals, but also maintenance staff. All maintenance hours are available - mornings, evenings and weekends. If you know of anyone looking to learn how to keep our club one of the best playing in the area, let us know!

Let's Get Playing!

We give our juniors a week to get back into school, then it's time to get them working on their games. All ages and levels will begin on the week of August 18. If your child was already in our program and you haven't heard from us to confirm their class for this season, we will be getting to you this week. But feel free to contact us with any questions!

Leagues will begin shortly and teams are already beginning to form. If you would like to know more about any particular league, stop on by or call to find out where you can be placed to play!

Annual Maintenance Fees

Many members did not receive this years' annual maintenance fee invoices when there was a change in our fees. Those that have not paid will be receiving a new invoice this week. Please let us know if you do not get this one. Thank you!
