We are proud of all our students whose hard work, preparation, and persistence allowed them to earn their next belt last month. Especially those that had failed in the past and had to pick themselves up, rededicate themselves and put in the work to improve to achieve their goal.

Our February belt testing was held last weekend, and our students came to show us they were ready for their next belt level.

Our Sabom nim In Wan Kim always advocated Martial Artists continually learn, adapt, and improve their own skill set.
In that spirit, our Senior instructors SBN Mowitt and SBN Berrie, participated in the KHF Master course seminar this past weekend to train on the mat with many various Instructors from different Hapkido associations and Kwans.
Both said it was a nice event to sharpen the saw.

Last night we celebrated the birthday of one of our outstanding instructors Rashid Wilson.
He has been with us since 2007 as a student first, to one of our best instructors. He is an all-around terrific person; the kids and their parents love him, the adult classes love him, and we love him.

Congratulations to all our students that achieved their next belt level this past weekend. We held the belt testing earlier this month due to the holidays.

Sabom nim John Berrie and Sabom nim Peter M Mowitt had to pull some students past their mental limitations to reach their full potential and success for their next belt level. Sometimes there are tears and groans, but in the end, they have confidence and pride.

In W Kim’s Martial Arts Academy students know their belts are earned and never given.
