Your Majors Bandits WBW 12U season has come to a close. Cooperstown was an amazing experience! We were fortunate enough, to qualify for the Ripken National Championship that was taking place in All Star Village during week 6. This is a very exclusive event that set out to determine the best 12u team in the country. It was a difficult choice, but our boys wanted their shot!
In summary, we made it into the final 8 teams in the country. We got to play baseball on the biggest stage and experience some things that most ball players never get to, it was honestly incredible. The team we lost to was a very difficult matchup for us to say the least, but we never stopped fighting. We battled until we finally ran out of outs, and in the game of baseball that happens. We left everything we had in New York and headed home with our heads held high!
In our first offseason conditioning practice of the season, we coined the phrase “Get comfortable being uncomfortable” which aligns with our philosophy these past five years. This past week, we saw a group of young men who have stacked uncountable days of hard work on top of each other, afforded an opportunity to climb the highest mountain.
It was not an easy decision, as we felt very confident in running the table in the normal Cooperstown championship bracket. However, they have a standard they hold themselves to, and backing down from Ripken Nationals just didn’t sit well with the majority of them.
Now we regroup and prepare for the big field. Baseball experts refer to this transition as the great equalizer, and these young men could not be more prepared for that! Ripken Baseball
