I had former Cincinnati Bengals and current youth football coach, Mike Martin, on the show a few weeks ago, and one thing he emphasized was FINDING and FOLLOWING your passion.

Too often people settle in this world for a career that doesn’t fulfill them, or bring them joy or a sense of passion. FIND YOUR PASSION, and MAKE IT HAPPEN🔥

Connections, connections, and more connections!

Nyah Funderburke joined me for an episode last month, and one of the BIGGEST lessons she shared was just how important CONNECTIONS are in college. A relationship she built in college, led to her current role with Buckeye Swim Club .

This is a similar message from a few of my guests so far… it’s not always about WHAT you know, but about WHO you know. Keep building your networks, never turn down an opportunity to meet someone new, and treat people with kindness. You never know what they could provide for you down the road.

Mike Martin was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in 1983 in the 8th round. After leading the NCAA Division 1 in receiving yards, he was frustrated with falling to the 8th round. That meant he came to Cincy with a CHIP on his shoulder.

After watching Reggie Virgil go for 5 catches and 66 yards in the HOF game tonight, it got me thinking. Back during my Draft Preview episode with Coach Jalen Cox , I mentioned that I got a chance to see and scout Reggie Virgil back in 2024 when he was with the Miami RedHawks, and BOY was I impressed. The kid can PLAY.

His talent showed tonight, and you’re going to want to keep your eye on him.

In swimming, you often have to determine your scoring roster, versus your non-scoring roster. Typically, the better swimmers are on scoring rosters, and the younger, less-experienced swimmers are on the non-scoring roster.

As a freshmen, Nyah was on the non-scoring roster for Ohio State Swimming & Diving . She then swam a time (51.62) in the 100 back, that would’ve WON the event for the entire Big10… as a FRESHMAN, while on the non-scoring roster.
