NVCC SATURDAY INTERNATIONALS RECAP

The Storm edged out the Mud Hens 8-7. Antonio Dominguez and Nathan Marino struck out four batters each. Michael Wolf, and Nathan Marino each had singles. Alex and Antonio Dominguez each had two hits. Alex hit game winner walk off in the 4th. Kirin and Vincent had singles for the Mud Hens.

Vinny Barone dedicated much of his time to the Nyack Valley Cottage Liitle league as a manager, as a board member, and as an unwavering supporter of the children in this community. Vinny worked countless hours at the fields and in the snack stand and was a welcoming and supportive presence who was always there for our players and their families. Every kid who played in the league during his time recognized his great heart, his warm smile, and his tireless energy, and they are better for having known him. Perhaps Vinny’s best memory was from this past season watching his grandson Luis win an Internationals championship!

Vinny Barone passed away Wednesday at the age of 73. In lieu of flowers he and his family have asked that donations be made to the little league he loved!

Registration for our NVCC travel team tryouts is now live. Please head over to our website to sign up your player. Try outs will be held for age groups 8u to 12u starting later this month but you must be registered to get notifications and be eligible to try out!

Sorry everyone, we tried to wait as long as possible in the hopes the weather would cooperate. It’s no longer safe to have the kids out on the field with the slippery conditions.

The first W of the NVCC all-star season belongs to the 9u baseball team!

- The 9u boys took down Suffern 15-5 in 4 innings this evening at Germonds.
- Owen McGrath led the way pitching with 2.2 innings giving up 2 runs while walking none and striking out four.
- The offense was lead by Miles Greenwood and Sekou Almoron-Johnson. Each tallying 3 hits. - Ryker Smuzinsky smashed 2 doubles and caught all 4 innings!
- Theo Ferber was a monster on the bases with 5 steals, 2 of which were of home. He then closed out the game striking out the last batter to finish it off!
- The boys are back at it tomorrow night at 8pm vs Stony Point.

Unfortunately the cosmic rodeo that is the Space Cowboys ended tonight with a tough 2-1 loss Pearl River. The season was just a blast and i couldn’t have asked for a better group of kids. Parents, and coaches. 🪐🤠⚾️💪🏻❤️
