What a night on Central! 💙

Our Where Dance Meets Art dancers brought the energy, and the crowd was loving every minute of their performance.

One of our dance parents shared that her daughter turned to her after the show with the biggest smile and said, “I’m definitely doing this again next year!” That right there is exactly why we do this. ❤️

From warm-ups outside the studio to dancing under the lights on Central, to chalk art and snow cones after the show — this is Small Town. Big Artistry. in action.

So proud of every single one of these dancers.✨🤩You all are rock stars ✨ Thank You Leah for being such an inspiration to these next generation of dancers and for your fun choreography! 💕

Summer Nights on Central Valley City Good Life

Today is our last day of Where Dance Meets Art. 🎨🩰

Here’s what we believe: dance isn’t just steps. It’s connection. So this year, we put dancers of every age and level in the room together — and let the program take its own shape. A shape we never could have anticipated. We just went with it.🌊

They learned new choreography, dancing through the decades. They were given an art concept each day and handed the freedom to run with it.
🩰But ask any of our dancers their favorite part, and most will tell you the same thing: their older dancers coming in throughout the day to work alongside the younger ones and getting to work with Leah, one of our Alumni.

✨That mattered to all of them. More than the choreography. More than the art. Just showing up for each other.✨

That’s the whole point.

This Thursday is Summer Nights on Central — a free night for our whole community, made possible by everyone who worked hard to plan it. Come be part of it. While you’re downtown, stop by our studio, see the dancers’ artwork on display, and catch our WDMA dancers “Dancing through the Decades” Performance during the band break 🎨🩰

We are SO ready for Thursday! 🌟

Micaiah's Studio of Ballet will be taking the stage at Summer Nights on Central ft. FM All Stars this Thursday, June 18th! Our dancers will perform at 7:15 PM during the band break — it's going to be a short, powerful, and unforgettable seven minutes. 🎶✨

Every year, our dancers count down to this one.
Not a competition. Not a recital. Just a gymnasium full of kids — their classmates — watching them do the thing they love most.

And then after the show, the best part happens.

Little ones come running. Kids who danced with me at 4 and 5 years old — now 2nd and 3rd graders with full lives and new adventures — and their whole face lights up when they see me and so does mine 🥹I get to hug them like no time has passed at all.
We are so grateful to bring pieces of our spring production to Jefferson Elementary every year — so every kid in that gym gets to feel what live art does to a room. Even if just for a moment.

This is why we do this. 💙

Leah Hochhalter 💕

Leah is a former MSB dancer who went on to represent North Dakota at Poetry Out Loud nationally. Now she’s bringing her love of dance, theater and storytelling to our dancers over the next three weeks.

This is exactly what Where Dance Meets Art is about — art forms colliding, young people finding their voice, and what happens when you give creativity a real place to go.

Spots still open. We start Tuesday June 2nd.

Most dancers spend the summer waiting.

Waiting for fall. Waiting for rehearsals to start. Waiting to get back in the room.

This summer doesn’t have to feel like waiting.

Advanced Movement Lab is three weeks of focused training, real artistry, and becoming the dancer you’re capable of being — before fall even starts.
