IMPORTANT!!! Share! We may forever lose a store on Lake Ashtabula.
As you probably know, we have been trying to sell the Crossing location for a year, but noone has stepped forward to make an offer to purchase.
If the store doesn't have a plan to reopen very soon, the lease for the lakeshore with the Army Corp will be terminated on January 1st, 2027.
What the Corp would do with the property after this we do not know, because the lease states that the activities of the store and the leased property together are for recreational development and general benefit for the public.
Unfortunately, if our plans for an ownership group do not come to fruition in the next 2 months, because of financial restraints, the store will be permanently closed and either remodeled into a home or it'll be torn down to make residential housing. Again, the store is on private land and the shoreline is Army Corp land. In this scenario, this location would be forever lost as a store and restaurant, and the lake would only have the 2 stores accessible to the public. More than likely, this would be bad for area lake homes assed value too.
We have done everything that we could do, but unfortunately, you need money to make money. Paying wages, filling coolers and shelves takes money...If you understand business, then you understand...
If you have some money set aside and would like to invest and become part of an ownership group at the Crossing store location, (This is for the private property where the store is located off of Corp property.) send us a private message.
Interested investors will be invited to an, invite only, private meeting at the beginning of October, where everything will be explained about what it will take to form an investor/ownership group and get the store open again. Note: becoming part of the ownership group doesn't commit you to working at the store. There will be no commitment to invest if you will be attending.
Finally, if you are one of the people that is saying, "they should have done this" or "why don't they do this?", if you have better plans or ideas, put your money where your mouth is, become an investor/owner. Now is the time to buy-in and put all of your great ideas to work!
